The Ghost of Mississippi Still Haunt Hollywood
This article talks about a widely beloved movie called The Help. This movie is meant to showcase the time of the civil rights era where 2 African American maids tell the story of their difficulties. Although this movie has been widely praised throughout the world it has caused some controversial outbreaks, even law suits for its portrayals. The actors and writers proclaim that there is no malice intended but many people have been concerned.
I personally have watched this movie and believe that it is a harmless portrayals of this era. As a film, the actors are forced to play the part as intended in order to showcase the story line. It is their job to make the story as real as possible. Do you believe that movies intentionally showcase malice by their acting?
